Lead Systems Engineer

Job Description:

BAE Systems is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Systems Engineer to join our advanced defense systems team. This role involves leading the design, development, and integration of complex systems for cutting-edge defense applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced defense systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and systems engineering, to ensure seamless integration and performance of complex systems.
• Conduct systems engineering analyses, including requirements analysis, functional analysis, and trade studies, to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Develop detailed engineering documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans.
• Manage and oversee system integration and testing activities, ensuring systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in defense technology and incorporate relevant innovations into system designs.
• Present project updates, technical findings, and performance metrics to senior management and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
• Extensive experience in systems engineering, with a strong background in defense or aerospace applications.
• Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies, such as DOORS, SysML, and MBSE.
• Strong knowledge of systems integration, testing, and validation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
